Program/Speaker .Don Max Vars introduced John Hicks, President and CEO of BSA |
· John Hicks grew up in Arkansas and graduated from Baylor University. · 12 Years ago BSA was founded through a merger. · Have recently opened the new “Create the Future” Ware Tower with the goal to put everyone in a private room…as it is the best clinical setting possible…it has been proven that people get well faster in this environment. · Latest project is to go toward a Neonatology Unit. Over the last few years over 1000 babies make this need an urgent one. Neonatology babies are usually measured in grams not pounds. Their care is critical in nature and their survival rate is shaky at best…with this unit in place this will be a much better choice for these young children. · The essence of healthcare today is in information obtained electronically. All charts are being maintained through computers in each room. · 100,000 people die tragically in hospitals around the country, which is why information is so terribly important. A goal of being to obtain one’s medical information at the click of a mouse is upon our horizon and will strategically enhance the survival rate. · A 100% safe hospital through technology is the goal, but it has to be a team effort. · Health Grades an organization whose job it is to evaluate hospitals. Over 7,500 hospitals are evaluated annually and the top 200 hospitals are listed as “safe hospitals”…The criteria used to obtain this rating are reportable incidents such as infection, unexplained deaths and complications from surgery. These are all measured and BSA was selected as one of the safest hospitals in the United States. |
Queens Fine Time |
· Paula Davis because her phone rang during the speaker’s presentation. · David Lowrie did not greet the Queen when she was at Feldman’s Field House. Andy Carter sitting at the same table did manage to greet Queen Regan. · Dan Hall because the Cowboys Lost. · Mandy Williams because she wore the only “big coat” and it happened to be a Greenbay Packer’s Jacket. · Andy Carter and Bob Lindsey made fun of Queen Regan’s dancing. · Paula Davis for her caption under the Queen’s picture in the weekly newsletter…something about big mouth reminded her of “Pac Man”. · Bill Townsend’s sweater should be thrown away along with all of his other 1970’s clothes.. · Patrick for fixing his watch during the speaker’s presentation and his black jacket does not match his pants… |
