Announcements |
· There will be NO meeting December 26, 2007…we will have had all the turkey we need and so it won’t be necessary to see Bob Lindsey this particular week. · Andy Carter presented Dale Davis with a donation of $500.00 to go towards the “Shop with a Cop” program. · Andy Hix…NO MORE PLAY-OFF GAMES! · If you see Mike Wartes or Todd Howie, please tell them how much you appreciate their efforts in getting the Play-off games to our stadium. · Thanks to Deanna Porter for keeping our Leo Members in the loop to help with each play-off game…there were 4 to 5 members each game…great job Deanna!!! · Thanks to Tom, Paul and Eloisa for buying supplies and food for the play-off games and for doing all the behind the scenes running around. · Thanks to cart Drivers, Dan Schuman, Don and Fern Hefner, E.J. Hail, and anyone else who sat down before I could get your name written down…what a blessing you were. · Thanks to Howard and Randy Morris for being on the chain gang on the field during every cold and/ not so cold game…in the snow, sleet…sort of like the postman. · Thanks to Paul Sweetgaul for taking care of the deposits and lining up the carts for use at the games. · Thanks to every member who brought a child, spouse, friend or neighbor to work the games. |
Program/Speaker Eloisa |
· Kendra Campbell, Director of Learning Communities at WTAMU (who is single but not desperate) and Wes brought a program involving the Readership Program at WTAMU. · Each Freshman was asked to read Night by Elie Wiesel a novel about what happened in the concentration camps in Poland and submit an essay for consideration in a contest to select a winner to go to Poland. · Twenty Students were selected to go to Poland in the spring. · In return for the trip to Poland each student will be asked to go into the community and share with civic clubs, schools and anywhere they can their experiences, thoughts, feelings and what life lesson they took away from this experience. |
Queens Fine Time |
· E.J. Hail is supporting a beard…Queen did not recognize him I guess with his face on. · Mandy for stealing (although the Queen can not prove it) Queens Lion. · Andy Hix because there are no more play-off games and she will not have to listen to him speak every week…however Andy believes he can arrange to speak every week anyway. · Mary Ellen for being way to enthusiastic about serving in the Visitors Concession stand. · Freddie, Bill and Paula for talking during the Program…I say an essay would be in order after they read this fabulous book. · Cute table · On a more serious note…Ms. Miller the Choir Director passed away on Sunday…she has 10 children 5 who are still at home, ages 1st Grade, Third Grade, 5th Grade and 7th grade are all I know. Please keep this family in your prayers. |

Queens Attendant for December |

Lions Pride |
· Dale Davis’s son was crushed between two cars in an accident and suffered relatively minor injuries for which we are all grateful. · Dale Davis announced that our own Sherman Jones was a true to life Hero for his part in the Korean War…Sherman said no he was not really the Hero…the quote he gave was “Some gave all they had” for the freedom we now enjoy and that the Veterans from that war are to be the spokes persons for those who did not return home. A standing ovation to Sherman Jones…we LOVE YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY. · Bill Craddock has a granddaughter Keeley Nicole Craddock 6# 14 ½ ounces. · Bob Lindsey said he was very proud of his daughter..he gives her grief (I’ll bet) but she has her own place her own car and supports herself since graduating from college. |
Drawing for Guests brought to Lions Club During November |
· Kayla Ebencamp’s name was the first drawn and Kayla was not present besides…she doesn’t need another win…we are thinking so we drew again and Dan Hall takes home the gift certificate this month. |
