Announcements

  • Dan Shuman would like to stress how very important it is to volunteer to drive the golf carts each week…this is a community service and it does not look good if there are not enough volunteers to complete the task…Volunteers should stay for the entire game…guests needing a ride  after the game is as important and the beginning of the game.
  • Jean has placed Walk for Lady Buff forms on each table.  Pledge $5.00 if you can to help this cause…
  • Harley Baker will have sign up sheets on the tables next week to get signed up for Pancake Breakfast for Fair on the Square.
  • Paula Davis has given each member cards for a free lunch for potential members.  If you give someone a card to attend…ask that they bring their card and turn it in when they visit.  There will be a drawing for a very nice door prize each month from the cards turned in by our guests.
  • Annabeth Baker has shirt order forms…we would like everyone to wear them at the Fair on the Square Pancake Breakfast.

Program/Speaker
Paula Davis

Ryan Hodge was our speaker.  He is the chair for student exchange program during the summer months.  You can take a teenager from a foreign country into your home for approximately 3 weeks during the summer.  This gives the child an opportunity to experience life in another country.  What an awesome experience for a young person.  Ryan is also trying to get a camp together for all these children at Ceta Glenn….the camp would be one week long where all the children can get together and fellowship for a week before they disburse to the Host Family for the remaining 3 weeks.

Queens Fine Time

  • Cute table allowed Andy Hix to sit with them.
  • Back table with the exception of Dale Davis did not want to sit with the Queen.
  • Dale Davis squished a bug on the floor during lunch…and Queen Susan has a very weak stomach.
  • Mandy and Amy for talking during the presentation of the speaker.
  • Suzanne for giving the Queen Susan a kick-boxing brochure at club.  It appears Suzanne sees the Queen Susan other places and could have chosen a better location to give here the brochure.  Queen Susan asked for the brochure…so I am not real sure why she fined Suzanne…but a fine is a fine.
  • James and David were in deep conversation during the program…something about sharing and the preacher…not sure what’s up with that.
  • Howard Morris for keeping the meeting room so cold that by the time club is over Queen Susan can no longer feel her feet.

Drawing-Queens –Split the Pot

  • Queen Regan drew ticket…611458, which was won by past District Governor Kenneth Waugh.

Queens Attendant for September

  • September-Kelly Lindley

Lions Pride

  • Fern Hefley announced that she does volunteer and drive the golf carts at the games on the weekend and she has a wonderful time.  She gets to drive celebrities around…for instance last week she drove Dwight Thomas around…to the press box, to his car and Mr. Thomas gave her an autographed  football.
  • Patrick has raffle tickets for the upcoming golf tournament being hosted  by WTAMU at Homecoming….you can get Big Bertha if you are lucky and NO Big Bertha is not George’s sister.

Kelsea Porter

Kelsea Porter gave a 4 minute speech on the free enterprise system in the United States.  How it came to be and how it operates efficiently to this day.  Free enterprise is still the most efficient way to get your goods to the market or purchase such goods for yourself.
